2014 will see the company produce two world premieres on the grounds of the Ross Creek Centre in two very different ways: Miracle Man by Allen Cole (Rockbound) and Michael O¹Brien will transform Ross Creek into “Deep Creek”, the fictional setting of Frank L. Packard’s novel where four small-time crooks come from the city to swindle a reclusive faith healer – only to be touched by miracles themselves. Theatre Off The Grid regulars will fondly remember Allen Cole¹s Rockbound (another adaptation of a Canadian classic) from our 2009 season, and we are thrilled to be premiering his new collaboration as part of our 2014 programming.
Following the sold-out success of our Iliad by Fire in 2013, Two Planks will be continuing our By Fire series with Joan by Fire a dramatic re-telling of the story of Joan of Arc told entirely around a fire after sundown, at 9:30 pm and audiences can often see both shows in one evening, and have a picnic in between (July – August - please check schedule for exact days of performance).
Our Theatre off the Grid is an intimate experience and seating is strictly limited. To avoid disappointment we urge patrons to book tickets in advance though our box office. Regular tickets are available at $25. Discounted senior tickets are available ($23), as are discounts for students, actor’s equity members and military families ($20). Children’s tickets are $10, and family packages ($65), for a family of four, are also available. We are also pleased to offer picnics for both shows this year, before each show. Picnics are $20, and subject to availability, so pre-ordering picnics are a must. Drinks and snacks are also available. All prices are subject to HST. “It’s ribald, racy, raunchy, and hilariously funny. The script and songs are terrific, and the cast is superb.” - Review of 2012′s Lysistrata For more information on how to book the bus, purchase tickets, directions, and accommodation and restaurant packages, click here.
